It shocked the world as it comes to the end of 2004
Tragic, Sorrow, Pain are just some of the feeling most of the people in the world felt apart from Unbelievable when the News and Results of the 9.0 Earthquake that resulted in nearly a million accounted death in a single week in 6 countries involving people from all over the world. What killed many of them is Tsunami, Tidal Waves that rolled out of the sea due to the shift of the earth crust. And it has travels up to the East coast of America.
Wat a name was given to this tragedy, Killer waves. It killed more than 40,000 people instantly and the after effects are still here. People dying of exposure, hunger, disease and wounds every min.
Help is on the way thou, this tragedy brought out a lot of humanity. All over the world, countries, companies/organizations and individuals donated money, clothes, blankets, medications and food over to the survivals. Volunteers starts to pour into the disaster areas to help with the distribution of food, the rescuing of still stranded survivals as well as trying to establish communications with the thousands of islands scattered all ard Indonesia that had lost contact since the Tsunami on the 26th.
We are lucky, and "we" meaning Singaporeans, Southern Malaysians, Eastern Malaysians and all those in South East Asia but not caught in the disaster. So close yet still far. But even as faith allows us to go unharm, we felt the sorrow of the world as our neighbours suffers. It is thus we need to go united as human beings, and put more efforts in helping those in need. Moreover, as good neighbours to give a helping hand.
